A grape with its roots in the Abruzzo region of east-central Italy, it may seem a bit wild and crazy to see a Rolf Binder Montepulciano in a bottle! Fortunately we have access to grapes from a long standing Eden Valley grower, who has grafted some old Riesling vines to this lovely varietal.
Bright ruby/purple colour with cherry, blackberry fruit and pepper on the nose.
A light to medium bodied style that makes a perfect food match to pizza and tomato based dishes. The palate shows hints of tar, chocolate, plum and spice with a firm, dry finish.
Drink now or enjoy this wine over the next 2-3 years.
