🍷 Appearance
Deep crimson with vibrant purple hues. Rich and concentrated in the glass, showing impressive depth and youthful intensity.

👃 Aromas
Powerful and complex, with spiced dark plum, mulberry and blackberry complemented by dark chocolate, sage and sandalwood. Subtle earthy and ironstone characters add further depth and regional personality.

👅 Palate
Full-bodied and concentrated, with layers of bright mulberry and rich dark fruits flowing across the palate. Dark chocolate, spice and mineral notes add complexity, while vibrant acidity provides freshness and balance.

🍈 Texture & Finish
Structured and beautifully composed, with fine, silty and grainy tannins providing an impressive framework for the concentrated fruit. The finish is powerful, persistent and exceptionally long, with lingering dark fruit, spice and ironstone characters.

🍇 Overall Style
A serious single-vineyard Barossa Shiraz combining richness and concentration with excellent structure and finesse. The 2022 fruit comes from the Chapman family’s vineyard in Moppa, in the northern Barossa Valley, and the wine was matured for 15 months in French oak, including 20% new hogsheads. Only 250 cases were produced.

🍽️ Food Pairing
Excellent with slow-roasted lamb shoulder, grilled rib-eye steak, beef short ribs, venison, rich casseroles or mature hard cheeses. Its concentration and firm tannin structure make it particularly well suited to richly flavoured meat dishes.

⭐ BBD Verdict
An outstanding Barossa Shiraz with tremendous depth and personality. Rich dark fruit, chocolate, savoury herbs and ironstone complexity are beautifully supported by fine, structured tannins and impressive length. Powerful yet balanced, this is a serious Shiraz with excellent cellaring potential.
