TASTING NOTES FOR Tyrrell’s Shiraz Hunter Valley New South Wales 2024

🍷 Appearance
Bright ruby red with youthful crimson hues. Medium in colour and vibrant in the glass, reflecting the elegant, medium-bodied Hunter Valley style.

👃 Aromas
Lifted and expressive, with bright red and dark berry fruits, complemented by black pepper, subtle spice and savoury notes. The aromatics are fresh and distinctly varietal.

👅 Palate
Medium-bodied, fresh and beautifully balanced, with raspberry, red cherry and darker berry flavours. Lively acidity provides energy and definition, while soft savoury tannins give the wine structure without heaviness.

🍈 Texture & Finish
Supple and finely textured, with gentle tannins and restrained oak allowing the fruit to remain the focus. The finish is fresh, savoury and persistent, with lingering berry fruit and peppery spice.

🍇 Overall Style
A modern expression of Hunter Valley Shiraz—medium-bodied, fruit-driven and elegant rather than powerful. Matured in older large-format French oak, keeping the oak influence subtle and preserving the purity of the Shiraz fruit.

🍽️ Food Pairing
Excellent with roast lamb, grilled beef, roast duck, pork, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses. Its medium body and savoury character make it particularly versatile at the table.

⭐ BBD Verdict
A classic modern Hunter Valley Shiraz with bright berry fruit, savoury spice and beautifully balanced tannins. Elegant, fresh and extremely drinkable, with plenty of regional character and a long, satisfying finish.
