Planted in 1936 by 4th generation Herbert Bernard Scholz. The old Semillon block has seen many seasons come and go, and is a consistent producer of high quality fruit, grown on a mixture of deep alluvial soil and red brown loam over clay on the banks of the North Para river.
This Single vineyard wine is sourced from our old vineyard, planted in 1936. These old vines produce grapes that give consistency of flavour year in and year out. The palate is full flavoured with classic lemon butter fruit, good length along with elegance and zest that indicates it will age beautifully over five years and beyond.
Winemaker’s of the Barossa refer to Semillon, as the Red drinkers’ White!
