Thank you for celebrating life with Levrier
Since 1988 I have been receiving international acclaim as an appointed specialist winemaker for wines I have made for my customers, however I knew the day would come when the desire for creating my own wines of distinction would need to be satisfied.
A French word meaning ‘greyhound’, my Levrier collection defines my love of winemaking and advocacy for rescued greyhounds.
Constant companions in my life, these majestic animals have inspired many an artist throughout our rich history.
Personally selecting single vineyard fruit from dedicated Barossa and Eden Valley growers, combined with specifically coopered new French oak barrels allows me the honour of creating luxurious Levrier wines for you.
Jo Irvine
Meslier is one of the rarest sparkling grape varieties, grown traditionally in France, with only a few acres known to exist worldwide. Our grapes are grown in the Adelaide Hills, making this one of the rarest sparkling wines in the world
My father James planted the first Meslier vineyard in Eden Valley in 1988 and in 1992 made the first single variety Australian Meslier Sparkling.
In 1997 source material from our Eden Valley vineyard was supplied and planted at Mount Torrens in the Adelaide Hills and is now supplied to me by the Edwards family.
Superbly fine beading with unique fresh green apple, citrus flavours and racey acidity make my Meslier perfect with fresh mussels and oysters with fresh limes and a hint of fresh chilli and coriander.
Personally selected single vineyard fruit from our dedicated Adelaide Hills grower, matured for 24 months on yeast lees prior to bottling. Matured for 12 months in bottle prior to release.Â
