2019 LONG ROAD PINOT GRIS
The Spring was dry and Summer quite mild.
The picking occurred in February after a
long, dry ripening season.
Pinot Gris is a pink coloured variety and
is typically made into a white wine.
We allow a small amount of skin contact
(20%) to encourage some colour but more
importantly some texture from phenolics
in our Pinot Gris.
Prounounced flavours of strawberry and
white peach dominate a round palate.
The richness of the palate is balanced by
fresh acidity and subtle notes of jasmine
on the finish, producing a refreshing and
Approximately 20% of the blend was on skin
contact at 5 degrees celcius for a period
of 7 days with the balance being pressed
lightly, settled and fermented in stainless
steel with a selected aromatic yeast.
The wine was left on fine lees for 6 months
before fining, cold stabilisation, sterile
filtration and bottling in October 2019
