Pale green in colour with a hint of straw. The nose is reminiscent of gooseberry, spiced citrus, green apple and passionfruit with background notes of smoked cashews and fresh herbs. The palate is well-weighted, smooth and textural. Fruit salad flavours are complemented by subtle hints of herbs and spices. Refreshing, long, citrus acid finish.
80% was fermented in stainless steel tanks and 20% fermented in barrel. The barrel batches were whole bunch pressed and wild fermented, whilst the tank portion was cold fermented to aid with both flavour and freshness. Both components were stirred on lees to help build texture.
‘Pale lemon hue. A nose of candied peel, soft green herbs and sea-spray. Bright and fresh on entry, lemon drops and pea shoots show throughout. Good flow and decent length. A very easy-drinking style that is to be enjoyed, not over-analysed.’
