TASTING NOTES FOR Naked Run BWC Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia 2023

🍷 Appearance
Deep cherry red, almost black at the core, with youthful crimson hues. Rich and concentrated in the glass, immediately suggesting a powerful Barossa Shiraz.

👃 Aromas
Lifted and generous, with ripe blackcurrant and plum complemented by roasted meat, dark chocolate, char and warming spice. Savoury notes and spicy oak add further complexity.

👅 Palate
Full-bodied and powerful, delivering concentrated blackcurrant and plum fruit with layers of chocolate and savoury roasted-meat characters. Charry, spicy oak is well integrated with the generous fruit.

🍈 Texture & Finish
Rich and wonderfully silky, with fine, dusty tannins providing excellent structure. The finish is long and persistent, leaving dark fruit, chocolate, spice and savoury oak lingering on the palate.

🍇 Overall Style
A classic full-bodied Barossa Valley Shiraz with impressive concentration, structure and richness. The fruit comes from a low-yielding single vineyard at Greenock and the wine spends 20 months in new and older French and American oak barriques.

🍽️ Food Pairing
Excellent with grilled rib-eye steak, slow-cooked beef cheeks, barbecued brisket, roast lamb, rich casseroles or mature hard cheeses.

⭐ BBD Verdict
A powerful and seriously satisfying Barossa Shiraz packed with blackcurrant, plum, chocolate and savoury spice. Silky texture, fine dusty tannins and beautifully integrated oak give it excellent balance and length. Generous enough to enjoy now, with the structure to develop further in the cellar.
