Established in 1858, Craigmoor is one of Australia’s oldest wineries and an integral element of our nation’s rich wine heritage.
The Chardonnay grapes used to craft this Craigmoor Sparkling were harvested early in the season and yeast fermented to retain rich fruit flavours and complexity. The base wine was re-fermented using the ‘Charmat’ method to produce a fine and delicate sparkling wine. This sparkling Chardonnay shows a pale straw colour. The perfumed bouquet exhibits floral fruit aromas, balanced by subtle yeast undertones lurking in the background. The crisp and fresh palate is rife with citrus fruit flavours, which coupled with subtle hints of bread and yeast, lead to a smooth and lingering finish. Made for consumption upon release, this sparkling white wine tastes marvellous with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and potato chips.Â
