TASTING NOTES FOR Juniper Canvas Tempranillo Margaret River Western Australia 2021
🍷 Appearance
Brilliant medium ruby red with a bright, youthful hue.
👃 Aromas
Fragrant and lifted, showing cherries, plum and red berries with hints of dried herbs and spice—cinnamon and clove adding warmth and complexity.
👅 Palate
Medium-bodied and vibrant, delivering juicy raspberry and red currant flavours intertwined with savoury spice. There’s a lovely balance between fruit brightness and earthy, savoury undertones.
🍈 Texture & Finish
Smooth and structured with ripe, firm tannins framing the palate. The finish is long and engaging, with lingering red fruit, spice and a subtle savoury edge.
🍇 Overall Style
A modern Australian Tempranillo—bright, spicy and savoury. Co-fermented with a small portion of Graciano, adding complexity, structure and a classic Spanish-inspired twist while retaining Margaret River freshness.
🍽️ Food Pairing
Perfect with Spanish-style dishes—think chorizo, tapas or paella. Also excellent with grilled meats, lamb, or roasted vegetables with smoky spice.
🥂 BBD Verdict
A seriously drinkable, savoury red—vibrant, spicy and full of character. A standout for mixed dozens when you want something a little different from Shiraz or Cabernet, but just as crowd-pleasing.
Cheers
