Bright crimson purple in colour. Clean and fragrant aromas with intense black fruits, bay leaf & a hint of violets. The palate is medium to full-bodied, & awash with juicy blackcurrant pastille & dark fruit characters; fresh, balanced acidity; ripe, fine tannins & a persistent satisfying finish. Best enjoyed over the next five to eight years.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62.6% – for structure & flavour), Merlot (18.5% – for body & softness). Cabernet Franc (7.8% – for perfume and smoothness), Malbec (7.4% – for colour & richness), & Petit Verdot (3.7% – for spice & boldness).
All of the varieties were fermented separately in a mix of open and closed fermenters, ranging from between 8 to 21 days on skins. Further aging in oak in separate batches took place until blending. Aged for a minimum of 12 months in barrel (12% new French).
