TASTING NOTES FOR Kooyong Haven Pinot Noir Mornington Peninsula Victoria 2019
🍷 Appearance
Medium ruby red with a bright crimson hue. Elegant and vibrant in the glass.
👃 Aromas
Complex and perfumed, showing dark cherry, strawberry and plum.
Lifted notes of dried rose, lavender and spice combine with subtle earthy undertones and a mineral edge.
👅 Palate
Medium-bodied yet densely structured, delivering layers of red and dark fruits—black cherry, raspberry and plum.
A fine line of acidity and spice runs through the palate, with beautifully detailed fruit and impressive precision.
🍈 Texture & Finish
Silky and refined with fine, emery-like tannins.
The finish is long and savoury, with lingering spice, earth and a fresh mineral lift.
🍇 Overall Style
A classic single-block Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir—elegant, structured and complex.
Combines fruit purity, savoury detail and fine tannin structure, with excellent potential to develop further in bottle.
🍽️ Food Pairing
Perfect with duck, roast chicken, mushroom dishes or pork. Also excellent with charcuterie and soft cheeses.
🥂 BBD Verdict
A premium Pinot Noir that delivers finesse, structure and serious complexity.
Perfect for mixed dozens where you want a step-up Pinot that offers both immediate appeal and the ability to evolve beautifully over time.
