The grapes are from our 94 Block Syrah at our Murrumbateman vineyard.
Deep red colour with purple hues.
Dark cherry and white pepper aromas and flavours. The palate is complex and extremely peppery with dark berry notes and smooth tannins. The finish is long and savoury.
The grapes were all de-stemmed and partially fermented whole berries in open fermenters then lightly pressed at the end of fermentation directly into 30% new French oak barriques and puncheons. The wine was matured for 8 months in French oak, racked and gently coarse filtered to bottle. No fining.
