TASTING NOTES FOR Craggy Range Sauvignon Blanc Te Muna Martinborough New Zealand 2025
🍷 Appearance
Pale lemon with bright green hues. Clear and vibrant in the glass, displaying excellent freshness and youthful intensity.
👃 Aromas
Elegant and lifted, with white peach, fresh blossoms and passionfruit complemented by preserved lemon, lime and subtle fresh-cut herbal notes.
👅 Palate
Fresh and expressive, with juicy white peach, passionfruit and citrus flowing through the palate. Crisp acidity provides excellent drive and balance, while a distinctive saline mineral character adds complexity and definition.
🍈 Texture & Finish
Beautifully textured with a fine chalky quality and steely minerality derived from the stony soils of the Te Muna vineyard. The finish is dry, crisp and persistent, with lingering citrus, herbs and subtle salinity.
🍇 Overall Style
A refined and complex expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the cooler climate of Te Muna in Martinborough. Vibrant fruit, crisp acidity and distinctive mineral character combine to produce a sophisticated style with considerably more texture than many New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs.
🍽️ Food Pairing
Excellent with fresh oysters, shellfish, grilled white fish, goat’s cheese, fresh salads or aromatic Asian dishes. Serve well chilled.
⭐ BBD Verdict
An impressive Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful purity and freshness. White peach, passionfruit and citrus are beautifully balanced by crisp acidity, chalky texture and a distinctive saline mineral finish. Refined, vibrant and extremely drinkable, with excellent depth and character.
